The Intel AMD war has been going on for years. AMD surprised everyone with a processor that performed better and taught us all the GHz weren’t everything. Intel took a while to recover, but when they did, the Core 2 Duo processor blew everyone away. The ongoing war can be summed up as follows: Intel has superior technology and is always one step ahead of AMD. Whereas AMD seems to be better with the micro-architecture and power performance.
Imagine if the two giants worked together on a new Processor? Picture a Core 2 Phenom , based on Intel’s 45nm technology? What would happen if Intel and AMD put their differences aside and decided to join forces and make a ‘super CPU’?
If the rumours floating around the web are to be believed then Intel and AMD maybe joining forces. Rumours have stated that Intel and AMD are working on a joint CPU " which would combine the latest fabrication technology with new micro-architecture and offer great performance as well as power. If the two worked together, it would be every hard-core gamer's or CPU freak's dream come true.”
On the other hand it could just be another one of those web rumors…
So far attempts to verify the story have not been successful as neither side is willing to confirm or deny the story.
