Dell brings out two more Core 2 Duo laptops, the Inspiron E1505 and E1405

Laptops armed with Intel's new Core 2 Duo mobile processor officially went on sale with Dell leading the charge. The Intel Core 2 Duo incorporates five separate mobile processors for different product types and a variety of desktop configurations for business, home, and enthusiasts such as high-end gamers. The latest version of the processor will be better to handle the multi-tasking, combining activities such as instant messaging, word processing, web browsing, and anti-virus scanning. (Of course this is the end of the line for the Pentium brand)

Dell is continuing with their Core 2 Duo processor upgrades with two more Inspiron laptops, the E1505 and E1405.

The cheapest of the cheap is a E1505 running a 1.66GHz T5500 processor for a mere $829 (with an instant $100 rebate). You can scale up your speed all the way up to the 2.16GHz T7400.
The E1405 starts at $879(with an instant $100 rebate-again) with the same range of processors.

These are the first cheap laptops core2 duo available. Reasonable prices and good if not great performance. Thanks to the new Core2Duo processor battery time is up and processing power is better then ever. Other specs include a 60 or 120GB HDD, combo drive or DVD burner. You can also get your pick of Intel 950 integrated graphics all the way up to a NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 card with 256MB of memory (but there goes the long battery life). Both models have an option for an 802.11n card, along with Bluetooth. All configurations should be available now or soon from the Dell store.
